I had Shabbat dinner with my Rabbi and his wife (who was my teacher in Hebrew school) this Friday because they were in town visiting family. Of course the conversation turns to Israel and politics and they start saying that they can't watch MSNBC because it has a very bad anti-Israel bias... the only news network they watch is FOX News. I almost died... how people I respect could think FNC is the "unbiased" cable news outlet! Anyway, though they are conservative (I mentioned Rachel Maddow, my fave, and they basically think all she does is go on unresearched anti-Bush tirades), they are largely one-issue people, so when the conversation turned to health care we were actually able to have a conversation because of my situation being able to show (in a very small part) what's wrong with the current system (not that I've hit a lifetime max or annual cap... just a pre-existing condition exclusion making it impossible to find my own healthcare, which is a big problem considering the nature of my business is that I'm constantly out of

It's complicated, isn't it? One of my closest friends has just become an Orthodox Deacon - I even proof-read his application for him. Even so, in the bigger picture, we're on different sides of the meme war.
