How about Rapidograph? They are mad expensive and I have heard mixed reviews.

I will keep these pens in mind! If I do end up reviewing them (or getting them to review them) soon I will probably order them from Blick where it looks like they are 36 - 50% off right now.
Thanks for the suggestion!

You should always be able to get them at a big discount. You shouldn't have to pay full price for Rapidograph (which I happen to love by the way). Utrecht and Pearl also discount them.

btw. I'd like to know which pens you review will write over acrylic paint. Maybe I'm alone in that, but just a suggestion!

That's a fantastic idea! I also write over acrylic paint, or draw over it. I'll definitely do a review with this soon.

I like these kinds of synchronicities!] I just now wrote that i'm going back to 'painting' with pens & inks, and for awhile now i've had the "Sakura's Pigma Micron" on my wish-list at Blick's.. I was wondering about the copic multiliners, but didn't know much about those.. so thanks a bunch! [what about the Sakura? any good?]

I've used the Sigma Pigma Micron pens for a few years now. They come in a lot of colors and work really well, they do dry out a little too quickly for my liking (but I tend to leave my pens uncapped without noticing while I'm drawing). They are a GREAT place to start though and, as I said, they come in a LOT of colors.
I will do a review of these ones soon. :)
Thanks for the suggestions.

Oooh, thank you for this. I'd been contemplating making the leap to try some Copic pens after hearing from another friend that they whupped up on Microns. This review was awesome and just exactly the kind of information I need when I'm considering trying new pens.
I didn't know you were up in Sac!

Aw, I'm glad it was helpful.
Yep, I've lived in Sac my whole life (not sure if that's a good thing...). :)

excellent!! I will try the Copic in .003 because seriously, no point is fine enough for me. I've been dying for something thinner than the .005

this is awesome. well done.

:) Well, it was you switching pens that inspired me to do it. Seriously though, the pen tip is pretty amazing and I do love how dark the thicker pens of theirs get. Honestly, I'm not a fan of their Sketch pen though, but that's just me.

I know and I totally think it's awesome that you did the test. I don't even have time to go to the art store anymore so this is very helpful :D My only problem with the Prismacolor is that they're a really different kind of black from my Microns. I'm not sure if I want to buy a whole set of Prismacolors because I'm pretty happy with my Micron .1 and .3s. Hmmm.

FYI:When shopping around for drawing pens, you might want to check this online retailer as well. They currently have the Prismacolor Premier Archival Marker Sets at 42-49% off:
