Music certainly is a vital, integral part of your story.

'Ello.... (this from someone who sings like a frog with laryngitis (in private only)...)

You are singing, and singing is you. But you do get tired sometimes on those rehearsal nights, specially when you have a lot of work. So... if it's yes, be happy, and if it's no, be happy too and take it as an opportunity - time to do with your voice whatever you really want - and to sing for fun for a while!

As a paid, professional singer: the only way to get over a fear of auditioning is to auditon. Over and over and over. Audition for things you don't want, audition for things you know you can't get, audition for things you think you shouldn't. There are such things as audition feedback seminars. See if you can find one. Or ask someone (a music professional--your church choir director?) you trust to let you do a mock audition: get feedback in any way you can.

There are a lot of excellent teachers in your area. Try a (female) teacher with the CIM prep department or the Music Settlement (maybe even out at Baldwin Wallace). Above all, try to find a teacher who comes from the Italian school of appoggio--it's the best way to combat the technical issues that make "the Change" harder. Best of luck, dearie.

I learned a lot from reading this. I wish you the best w/ COC etc. but am glad to hear the determination that no matter what, you will keep singing and making music.
