I will not be attending Otakon this year. Long Story. Don't pity me, it was a tough call for me to make and I'm reassured more and more it was the right call.
In other news, I dreamed last night that you lived in this really bizarre house with a huge garden. You had large patios set up with decks overlooking water landscapes and waterfalls and ponds with fish. The whole thing was gated off from other places that looked similar, and through the gate I could see a large water landscape that was broken up by what looked like organic stalagmites that were actually fountains, and the stalagmites had tons of tiny little terraces with small doors where aquatic birds could make homes.
Anyway you had a party in this huge backyard and we all sat around in this super lush grass and your house was so big and you got angry at me because I said one man didn't need to live in such a big house. And then someone, one of our mutual friends, I don't remember who, sang a beautiful song and it was so sweet and lovely I cried at the end. After the song you and I made up from our fight and went to go chill on one of your terraces and watch the waterfalls.
Yup, I'll add you to the list of things Otakon was lacking this year...
among them: - MegaTokyo - Gaia booth in the dealer hall - memorable industry booths (although Bandai made an effort) - a defining main event
Don't get me wrong. The Japanese musical acts were ALL great this time (missed JAM Project) and there were some remarkable things to see. It just felt...weird. It could also be that I was sick all weekend... :/
