It came from the song and then I decided I kind of wanted Merlin to be the older and wiser. Partly because I read a fic a while ago that had Merlin as older and it worked well, so yeah. And I think that Merlin didn't want to take it too fast, even though he knows. x3
I have no idea where that came from, I really don't. I just put it in there. Sometimes, there really is no reason to my madness.

I'm so glad you liked it, because I wasn't planning this. To be fair, I don't plan most things that I write, but this was extra unplanned, if that makes sense.
They totally are. I wanted to write something from Arthur's POV for once, and I decided that Merlin would be older. I don't know why - like I said, this was unplanned.
Sigh. I wish I could have a first date like this, too. Y'know why I made it about a first date? 'Cause one of my friends has this live version of the song where at the start, Taylor says "It's about the best first date I've never had". No, really. That is how sad I am. x3
