So, when checking over my vocab for my japanese speech, I looked up a few words on Jim Breen's... and I came across this:
"(v5r) (col) (uk) to do; to have sexual intercourse; to kill; to give (to inferiors, animals, etc.); to dispatch (a letter); to despatch; to send; to study; to perform; to play (sports, game); to have (eat, drink, smoke); to row (a boat); to run or operate (a restaurant); (P)"
I looked up the word for 'play' and got "遣る 【やる】" with that extensive list of varioius meanings. Usually it's just a few, fairly related meanings for each kanji (though words with the same pronounciation can have limitless definitions, as it would seem)
Note: This verb was *not* used in my speech... it just amused me.

Ah well, time to sleep... I'm beat. again.
