Asher's way of speaking

One of the fun things about Echo Bazaar is its link to twitter.  Anytime something happens in the game, you can tweet about it from your character's point of view.  You can also tweet to other players and even the Masters of the Bazaar!

One difficulty I've had because of this is figuring out Asher's way of speaking.  I started out having him use

It's rather amusing for me to be writing Henrik--because he's speaking English as a second fifth language, he's picked up most of his grammar and usage from literature; thus, he is in the rather odd position of sounding like a mid-Victorian novel, with a poor ear for idiom. He really ought to pick up a canting dictionary, or possibly just spend more time in Spite. :D

Wow, Henrik is quite the linguist! I need to brush up on my Victorian-era literature...I still feel like my phrasing is too modern. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to read anything but textbooks since school started.

Send Henrik to Spite, and he'll come back with a more "colorful" vocabulary haha
