Asher has finally started becoming his own character - meaning it feels more natural to write with him rather than feeling like I'm still controlling things.  I haven't written him enough to be completely comfortable, but I have noticed that I started adding in more of a Cockney-like accent as I became more comfortable with the character.  I've ( Read more... )

I've picked it up in writing for Harry and it helps.

As for the readability -- less is more, I find. If you can give the reader just a little, his or her mind/ear/imagination will supply the rest. Sometimes you can go a little overboard right at first to make a point, but after that back it down until you're really supplying very little of the dialect, and the reader's inner ear is supplying the rest of it.

Yeah, I agree with "less is more." And I do read everyone's tweets with their imagined voices in my head haha I know I can't be the only one who does that!
