Well, what more can you do, right? You told him you couldn't make it that day, he scheduled it anyway, you still can't make it....so he has no right to be upset with you about it.

I realize that you're probably more upset because you want to be there for him and you can't, and there is nothing you can do about it. I'm sorry. Tell him he has to give you a special, "private" concert. Or maybe will you be able to go to a rehearsal with his partner? I know also you might be worried it might look like you're an unsupportive wife or something, but don't...you know the truth and that's all that matters!

He won't be upset about it at all - I am more upset that I won't be able to be there myself and upset that he feels like he doesn't need my support to do it. Makes me feel not needed, you know? But I know it's probably as simple as he knows he's better off without me there because I will make him nervous... ?? I don't know. Whatever.
