I suspect I will just miss him, unfortunately, but it's okay. I really enjoyed your account of it -- good to have friends through whom I can live vicariously here and there. ;)
I've been meaning to check out some of Cohen's stuff. I've seen a couple of his performances on YouTube, and my reaction was mostly that he was an amazing songwriter but not much of a singer... but then, that's what most people say about Bob Dylan, and I love Bob Dylan, so I suspect I might feel the same way about Cohen if I listened to him a bit more.

Oh, definitely. Though I have to say I prefer the "Live in London" versions of the songs he played (which were mostly the ones he did in Boston, too) to the ones on the CDs. I went back to listen to the CD versions, and his voice has changed so much over the decades. Plus the 9 piece band he's got touring with him is amazing, and he takes every opportunity during the concert to showcase them, too. A class act. :)
