Oh man. I just heard about this.

So fucking sad.

I remember my dad having his albums and how I was never allowed to listen to them until I was probably in my 20's. What a genius.

yeah it was definitely not young kid material. it is very sad. especially having seen the way MS took hold in the last.. i dunno.. 10 years?

Wow, sad. I hadn't heard.

He's been something my father and I have really been able to connect over since I was in high school. I think you're right that most folks our age have missed out on something great.

that's great that you and your dad were able to connect over him. i always caught his specials or clips of shows he'd done but i wish i could've truly grasped the magnitude of change his humor brought.

Yeah... and I mean he also physically abused women in his life for years and years, which makes it hard for me to fully appreciate the parts of his life that I do see as groundbreaking and positive. But I guess that makes sense, too. He definitely made people think.
