So, I've been thinking more about what I read and how people are offended by homosexuality and think it poses some threat to them because they are apparently not secure enough in their own relationships and selves to be able to handle something that is the least bit different from them. It is really baffling and disappointing to me. Craig and ( Read more... )

I'm glad I can count on you to post exactly what I'm feeling. I don't know what I was thinking, I mean I realize I live in Georgia, but I didn't expect the gay marriage ban to actually pass. I just don't understand why people are so afraid to give people rights. I mean, seriously, how does giving people the right to marry affect you and your life?

Oh, by the way, I read an article the other day where this woman's child brought home a book about two princes who fall in love. The woman was very upset with the school's library and wanted the book to be banned. And the school complied. All of this just makes me sick and angry, I just don't know why there is so much hate in the world.

aw, erni, this made me so sad. people are so ignorant. and so happy to be that way. i mean, i just don't understand...and i am glad you have sweet couples in your life like craig and john, and the others, i think that is really nice and affirming. and i think when you said "I think that is what some people are afraid of, they don't want their kids to see it as a good example, so they tell them how wrong it is." taht you were so right..i mean, that is why you have people (on the real world haha) saying "all my momma eva tole me bout them homoseshuals is that they have sex with everyone and are sinful and evil and blah blah blah.." and don't be too discouraged because the only person in our class who said he didn't want his kids to be gay was the dumb ugly nasty mustache boy. so there. like, we can't disallow people from living their lives (in a loving way that is not harmful to anyone!) just because we may or may not think it is wrong, that is not what this country is about..and it makes me sad to know that people are so close-minded ( ... )

that guy was the only one who said so in class, but then that girl who is in my speech class told me later that she feels the same way and didn't think it was nice for people to attack him for feeling the way he does. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that just seems like an awful thing to think.
