Birdlings
Zevran Arainai ★
An uneasy truce at first, Zevran eventually managed to work his way into a coveted position of trust--Starwind trusts him without question, even making him a Wingbrother and presenting him with a talisman. When Starwind began having nightmares, Zevran offered to share a bed to alleviate them. They are currently in a relationship and Zevran has given Starwind his earring.
Laura Kinney ★ ⚙
At first, Laura intrigued the mage, but he soon learned of her past and offered to help her re-learn how to feel and deal with others caring about her. Like Vanyel, Starwind considers Laura his student and is fiercely protective of her. While there is precious little that they can relate to, Starwind still tries to help her see her own worth. Recently, she has requested lanuage lessons.
Atoli ★
Elena Fisher ★
Fenris ★
Starwind's opinions of this elf are complicated. While he believes in the general goodness of the man's heart, he very much disagrees with Fenris' prejudice against mages (for rather obvious reasons). Discussion has so far proved interesting and, while he has no illusions of changing Fenris' mind, he does hope that he can prove himself to the elf.
Angeal Hewley ★
The Missing
Moondance k'Treva ★ ★
Moondance is Starwind's original lifebonded. While they spent a brief time together in the Underworld, Moondance has since returned home. However, the pan-dimensional nature of the Underworld that Stawind still resides in has affected the bond negatively --it has so faded as to be very nearly gone and Starwind is trying to move on to keep from killing himself in grief.
Vanyel Ashkevron ★ ⚙
One of Starwind's students from home, he arrived from a time some 30 years prior to what Starwind remembers. Still, he falls easily into the pattern of teacher and protector. Starwind is somewhat on the side of overprotective, while Vanyel is still trying to overcome that teenage selfishness. He has since left the Underworld.
Utena Tenjou ★ ⚙
Their first meetings were not under the best of circumstances, but Starwind still came to Utena's rescue. After she was tricked into attacking him, Starwind offered to teach her how to shield her own mind against attack, and she learned quickly. She has since left the Underworld.
Hina Ichigo ★
When Hina first appeared in the Underworld, Starwind was reminded of his son, Brightstar. He all but declared himself her guardian, even inviting her to join him, Vanyel, and Tylendel in their home. She seemed naive and innocent and Starwind tried to protect her. She has since left the Underworld and returned home. While Starwind knows she is safer there, he still misses her.
Harry Dresden ★
After Harry's return to the Underworld, Starwind was impressed with his leadership skill and his shared belief that those with power have a duty to protect those without. Starwind placed himself at Harry's disposal for the defense of the Underworld's "citizens" while the wizard was there. He has since left the Underworld.
Raenef ★
When Raenef arrived, Starwind's more paternal instincts made yet another appearance, as he was reminded of a very young Brightstar. He was somewhat protective of the boy, though he was confused about Raenef's desire to become a demon lord. He has since left the Underworld.
Sir Percy Blakeney ★
Sir Percy began on an amusing, if a bit self-centered, note. While Starwind was reminded of a young (far shallower) Vanyel, he is still left with the impression that there is something more behind the facade that he is portraying to the rest of the world, though, perhaps, that comes from a lifetime of training in perception. He has since left the Underworld.
Sephiroth ★
While they often disagreed--usually about Taree--Starwind can admit to a kind of respect for Sephiroth. Starwind did not appreciate some of his comments, but realizes that the general is hardly the worst who had ever resided in the Underworld. He has since left.
Sophie-Anne Leclerq ★
Sophie-Anne has done little to endear herself to Starwind, first making threats when she arrived in the Underworld, then insulting Taree, the bird he keeps, occasionally. After encounters with Jung-Tsu, he is distrustful of the vampire population in the Underworld, and he is glad to see her go.
Jung-Tsu Park ★ ★
After the vampire attacked Vanyel, Starwind has no tolerance for him. Starwind, of course, came to the aid of his student, defending Vanyel and threatening Jung-Tsu if he touched him again. It is doubtful that anything will make up for Starwind's original impression of him and he is quite happy to continue disliking him. He has since left the Underworld.
