Does that mean they started putting mercury in shots in 1990?

I'm not sure yet as I haven't done the research, but from the following posts, it could be any number of factors.

For every study that seems to suggest autism is linked to high levels of mercury, another one suggests there is no connection. A study from Israel released earlier this month found that autism rates rise as fathers get older. Dads in their 40s, the study said, are six times more likely to have children with autism than men under 30.

The fact is, no one knows for sure. The only given is that, in the last 20 years, something has triggered a disturbing increase in the number of children born with autism.

In the past 20 years, minor forms of autism have begun to be socially desirable -- computer programmers have a higher probability of being a genetic carrier for autism. In/around silicon valley the percentage of autistic children is much higher than the national average. There are also more "geek" couples there -- when a man and a woman who both have mild cases of autism or recessive genes that might carry it procreate, the chance of producing autistic offspring is much higher.

I'm sure that any source that I give you will be as suspect to you as www.infowars.com is to me.

also there are forms of autism they're just now being able to more accurately diagnose, as those people are considered High Functioning Autism.
Specifically I have a friend who just a year ago or so was diagnosed with a form of autism. He's almost 30 years old.
