I have a moral code, I just don't wear it out through overuse.

Having watched the first two episodes of Desperate Romantics thinking it was little more than ahistorical fluff that was a little bit too in love with how 'cool' it thought itself, the last two episodes have led to me totally loving it and wanting to draw little hearts around it and just being generally giddy about it! ( It has won me over... )

ooo. I've dl'd the first two and was hemming and hawing about actually watching them (my watching tv record on computer is terrible - it normally gets to the point where I've got no space left on my hard drive and have to watch a bunch just so I can delete and/or burn.

btw, are they going along with actual history or what?

my only problem with spotify is that the random singles I *want* they don't have. gaaaaah.

I'm exactly the same - there's loads of things I want to watch, I just seem to struggle to find the time to fit it all in!

I get the sense they're following the spirit of their lives rather than the letter. I'm not particularly familiar with the history of these guys, but from what I have looked up some figures have been left out, others conflated into one person etc. But then there's some bits I'd assumed were fabrication which it seems are true! If you were able to forgive Rome or The Tudors sacrificing accuracy for fun or better story then you'll have no trouble with this!

I do find it irritating that Spotify seems to know exactly which Sneaker Pimps song I want and deliberately doesn't have it! But am loving all the old Jazz records I've never heard before!

Exactly! I rather think it would suffer if they'd bogged it down with too many facts! I think they've actually done a really good job of picking out the threads of these men's lives that are most interesting and filmable. It's certainly made me want to find out more!
