Unquiet hearts find sweeter rest. No longer does it loom, a pall upon this city. Last vestige of progress' lie, to the depths it goes. And this one wonders, only...

Do you enjoy your taste of larger sky, now the clouds have been plucked aside?

Speak our hearts?

...It's brighter now. Who are you? What progess...lie are you talking about? The plate?

Is it not a simple request?

Adhiira, child. This one is called Adhiira. And yes, the plate is gone now. Little use it retained, more than a reminder of the governance of old.

No. Hearts aren't always so simple.

You're Adhiira? I'm Riqis. I'm...well- do you know everyone here already?

Wise words, those.

To know is deep sight, young Riqis. It is time and familiarity, but also understanding.

So you and the other one are responsible for the plate?

How many of you are there?

Another you will meet, and then begin to know all.

A turnover in power...

But no one is going home.

Yet how many have already gone?

Merely a taste. Nothing substantial, nothing tangible. A tease of freedom, a backhanded taunt and nothing more.

That is all you've brought to offer. False hope to those of weaker mind and cryptic words undecipherable to the same. Hardly an honourable deed at all, don't you think?

The fiercest fires burn too hot, too fast, consuming all without restraint. Do not judge so quickly, little flame, lest you find all the bridges burnt before you reach the mainland.

You ask us to speak our 'hearts' and then reprimand me for doing so.

You see a reprimand in a caution, sweet soldier. It has been always in you to burn too hot. Yet temperance serves the warrior as does courage, reason as does force of will.

[He listened in on the other conversations for once, so no need asking the same questions.]

Adhiira... You're the one Yugash was telling me about.

Why did you two do this? Are you the ones that caused the first explosion up there?

[He tries not to make his tone as accusatory as it was curious.]

Kind of him to think of this one.

You think us uncaring, that we would wait to see it crush you beneath it? Dear boy, the plate was slipping, sliding, would you have stood aside if you had that choice?

I- no, that's not it at all. I don't think you're uncaring. I was just wondering why. Because- well, none of us knew it was sliding. A warning would have been nice...

But, you're right. I wouldn't have just watched it fall, had I known it was about to fall. I would have tried to stop it, even if I wouldn't be able to.

Sliding since it was broken, a threat and a shadow over the city, and though it has been long silent, it had last begun to groan its last. The action as quick as necessity dire, we gave what warning we could.

If you know our hearts, we wouldn't need to speak them. Instead, maybe a different topic?

Your wishes, then? Your minds? Speak. This one will listen.

[Ignoooooring the 'wishes' thing.] I'm curious about what caused the sudden change in 'gods'.
