Rory waited.
He was The Boy Who Waited. He’d always waited, for Amy. For Amy to talk to him, for Amy like him, for Amy to trust him, for Amy to love him. Then he’d waited two thousands years for her.
When House trapped them on opposite sides the door, he did what he did best: he waited. It worked the first time (even if it took a few hours). She came around, like she always did, if he waited long enough. But then it happened again, and she was gone, for a long time, forever. Waiting didn’t help.
When the Doctor vaporized his wife into a puddle of goo and informed him that she was somewhere far away, giving birth, alone, he knew what he needed to do.
And he sure as hell wasn’t going to wait.
