When Wesley didn't answer right away, Buffy was sure he was going to say no. She wouldn't blame him, considering the way she'd treated him a few years before. Buffy knew if she could change things, she would but she couldn't. All she could do now is hope he'd say yes, and if he didn't, then she would leave and find somewhere else to go

"There should be some. I hope," Wesley said, looking up at her as she knelt over him. "Maybe I should look into finally setting up that website like I had been considering. I'd have to find someone to code it for us, though

When Wes agreed to train with her, Buffy smiled. Knowing she was going to have someone there with her, helping her, made some of the numbness go away. Maybe it wouldn't be like having a real Watcher, but even Giles really wasn't her Watcher after high school. He helped her train, but allowed her to make her own decisions when it came to patrolling, and other things.
"Thank you, Wes," Buffy quietly said after they'd pulled apart. "You...this means a lot to me."
She didn't know what else she could say. Instead of speaking, she leaned down and deeply kissed him. When they both needed to breathe, Buffy pulled back and softly stroked his face before lying back down and cuddling close to him. She thought about food for a moment, but decided she was content where she was and could eat in the morning.
"Goodnight, Wes," Buffy said around a yawn. She pulled the sheet over them and draped an arm and leg over him before falling into a dreamless sleep.
Wesley found himself lying awake for a while, Buffy in his arms after she had fallen asleep. Part of him still couldn't believe the turn his life had suddenly taken that night. He had gone from being to alone to having Buffy Summers back in his life. And not back in his life, but in his bed as well

Buffy liked this. She liked going slow with Wesley, and having it last longer than all those other times. Before, things were always over much too quickly but now it was going to last. It was something she needed in order to know she was not alone. Plus, she wanted Wes to know she was serious about what she'd said moments earlier. She was falling in love with him, and she didn't want it to stop
( ... )
Wesley forced himself to remain still while Buffy undressed him, fighting the urge to take this fast. It was hard not to want to push her on the bed and just press himself inside her, but they were going to enjoy every moment. He wanted to touch her all over before he thrust into her. He wanted to feel everything in these moments with her
( ... )
Buffy smiled against his lips when Wesley said he wanted to feel her too. She knew she wouldn't do this for anyone else, and had never done it for Riley. And she wouldn't either. What she had felt for Riley didn't come close to what she felt for Wesley. It was different, and more mature. Wes understood her and would never be jealous of her powers
( ... )
At Buffy's moans, Wesley smiled against her. He could practically feel her vibrating, and it was making him harden more, so much so that it almost ached. But he forced himself to stay in control, wanting to bring Buffy this pleasure. Slowly, he curled his tongue over her clit then down to her channel, thrusting it inside and groaning at the taste of her
( ... )
Buffy was glad Wes didn't say anything about them being together. It wasn't the right time to drop the bombshell on her friends. Plus, Xander's well-being was more important at the moment. Besides, she was too busy looking at Anya, who had taken up circling around Wesley and standing behind him. "Anya! Stop that!" Buffy blurted out
( ... )
When Buffy told Anya to step it, Wesley wanted to give her a grateful kiss even though he knew he couldn't, not when they had agreed to keep their relationship secret for the moment. However, a moment later, he found himself lost again as Anya loudly announced that he just had to be gay
( ... )
Buffy frowned and looked at Xander when Wesley said things were going to get harder. She remembered a time when Xander had been upset because he didn't have a 'superpower' like the rest of them. He had always hated being ordinary, even though he was nothing but. Yet, he never believed them when they told him he was an asset to the group
( ... )
When Buffy tried to soothe Xander, Wesley found himself wishing there was more he could do for him, knowing how much he meant to her. But at the moment, he couldn't do anything for him, not until he had a chance to actually start going through these books
( ... )
Buffy leaned against Wesley and sighed. It was nice to have someone there with her through all of this. Someone who wasn't going to judge her, or look at her, expecting things she couldn't give. Wesley loved her and was giving space to grieve, while being there when she needed. "Thank you for being here for me, Wes," Buffy whispered as she looked up at him
( ... )
"Always, Buffy," Wesley promised, knowing that he'd do whatever it took to fulfill it. He never took promises lightly, especially when it came to the woman he had fallen in love with.
When Buffy then told him what Dawn had said, his eyebrows raised in surprise. He never would have thought that Dawn would have had anything nice to say about him, not after the way he had acted to begin with. "She really said that?" he asked in amazement. "I...I never would have thought..." A soft smile crossed his lips. "Your sister was obviously quite perceptive and amazing, Buffy. Never forget that. That means she knows that you did everything you could for her."
He nodded when she suggested taking a nap and followed her upstairs to bedroom. As she lay down, he sat on the edge and pulled his own shows off before allowing her to tug him down with her. Wrapping his arms around her, he cuddled her against him, kissing her forehead.
"I love you," he whispered. "Get some rest. I'll be here with you."
Buffy let out a content sigh as Wesley wrapped his arms around her. Even though she was the Slayer, she took solace in his arms, knowing he would always be there for her, no matter what happened. Buffy had to wonder if they would've been close before if she had given him a chance. Or if they would've given each other a chance. She wondered if things would had been easier on all of them.
Shaking her head, she decided it didn't matter anymore. What happened seemed like a hundred years ago and so much had changed since them. Wesley was no longer the man she loathed, but the man she loved with every ounce of her being. She was sure she even loved him more than she had loved Angel at one time.
"I love you," she whispered before she drifted off to sleep.
As Buffy murmured her love to him, Wesley smiled and kissed the top of her head before nuzzling her temple. Closing his eyes, he lay there with her in the bed. He could feel her slowly relaxing until he could tell that she had finally fallen asleep
