tangentally, I skimmed this article (I much prefer factcheck.org, as it tends to be a little more unbiased than ANY major news outlet today) but the statement about Obama being against energy caught my attention. I've yet to get a straight answer on this, and I'm extremely curious, so maybe you can clue me in.
Why is it that liberals are so concerned with the environment, and at the same time, so deadly opposed to nuclear power? Its never made much sense.
The same can be said about conservatives and abortion/death penalty, but I think the answer there lies with the fact that fundies are just scary, crazy people. Personally, I would consider myself conservative, and yet am still pro-choice.
First of all, it must be stated that I am registered as an Independent. I tend to lean left, but there are definitely some things I don't like about liberals (namely being pro-welfare) and admittedly only a few things I like fiscal conservatives. I don't agree with a damn thing social conservatives tend to think. Still, I'm not totally Dem.
Anyway.
When Palin said, "America needs more energy ... our opponent is against producing it." I nearly through something at the TV and screamed, "NO YOU STUPID BITCH HE JUST DOESN'T MASTURBATE WITH OIL AND FOSSIL FUELS LIKE YOU DO!" Obama is just more about alternative fuels, which I think is the future. Not drilling for oil every damn place possible, including the Alaska Wildlife Reserve, like she does. As far as Obama's energy plan overall, read here.
I have to go right now...conversation can continue if necessary after lunch.
For the record - I'm rather undecided on my voting stances, I just was curious about some specific examples of Palin lies.
It looks like in November, I'll be voting entirely anti-incumbent for congress (operation glass parking lot), and I'm leaning towards McCain, but that changes every day.

Sarah Palin is a liar and the plausibility of her having any power scares me shitless.
