I hear ya. Granted my late Dodge Shadow (Stella) wasn't quite as bad as your van sounds, it was 11 years old & was having some major issues. I agree with the go foreign statement. When I bought my Hyundai it was all about reliability & the sweetass 10yr warranty.

I would have had a HOnda if the salesguy wasn't an asshole & decided to lower the price to the amount I could afford AFTER I had left the premises & already driven 45min away to a different dealership. Apparently he expected me to drop everything & drive back to him - boy was he mistaken. Too bad, so sadd for him. But, getting back to the comment at hand, if you can get a Honda or Hyundai or Toyota I say Go for it!! :)

Did the person that rebuilt your tranny give you a warranty on it? If they did, you may be able to take it back to them and make them fix it for free, they obviously didn't do something right if it's broken again. Or you're just hell on transmissions. Regardless, if there is a warranty they will fix it, if not, you're kinda screwed.

oh wouldnt that be grand? funny thing is, the FIRST time my tranny was shot, i took it back to the people who "fixed it" and they "fixed it again" and not for free, might i add. the warrenty was only 6 months, and its prolly been 8. cool eh?
