Yesterday we started our second year curriculum.  With it, comes a LOT more self-studying as we're responsible to know significantly more information then they have time to cover in class.  I know that it is my full time job to be a student and that working hard over these years will benefit me for the rest of my life.  But when is it enough?  Is 8 ( Read more... )

Turns out all was not lost and I got funding afterall.  I'll be working in Boston from 5/31-7/23, doing research in the adolescent med department of Boston Children's Hospital.  I am so excited!  I feel like I'm going home.  Plus, i'll be amongst friends, a spiritual community I feel at home in, back in the hippy/crunchy culture of the northeast,  ( Read more... )

I applied for 3 research fellowships back in Jan.  All were 8 week programs, stipend, and would get me back to Boston for the summer.  So far I have received 1 rejection, and 1 acceptances WITHOUT funding.  I'm still waiting on 1.  The other summer options I was considering were trying to get to Africa to do something medically related and travel ( Read more... )
