All right, well, if I'm going to be stuck here for a while -- and it seems like I will be, judging from what I've gleaned from the other "residents" here -- I might as well keep myself entertained. The box of scraps I found in that cave seems like it's going to be useful -- I have enough to make an extremely basic Repulsor. Nothing compared to my ( Read more... )

What's a repulsor?

A Repulsor is a device that uses electromagnetic fields to force ionized particles passed a extreme heat source, creating a super-charged laser of sorts. That's weaponized version at least. The one I'm working on here is nothing close to that, though -- probably only strong enough to hover a bit, not fly or blow anything up.

That's interesting...

Thank you. It took a couple years to prefect it -- well, at least hone it to the state it is now. What is it they say about artists never actually being finished with their work...?

Armor that.... repulses? What?

Oh, the armor itself doesn't repulse anything. A Repulsor is a component of the armor -- a weapon specifically.

Am I allowed to ask what kind of weapon?

Of course. It's an energy weapon essentially -- shoots super-charged particles in a beam.

Hello Mr. Stark!

Are you trying to build something new? You have me curious about this "repulsor".

Yes, I've finally gotten around to working on something -- And I can see you are as well.

As I was explaining to Kotetsu, the Repulsors work with electromagnetic fields. I'll gladly detail it more for you if you're so interested.

Please do! Harnessing electromagnetic fields... the possibilities are endless!

And yes, we're doing a bit of an archeological dig. Nothing too large, but it's a start.

They are! I've become something of an expert in electromagnets over the years, though I never set out to be -- there's just so much that can be done with them. The Repulsors work by super-heating particles and forcing them through a small opening -- this case, built into the gauntlet of my armor -- creating a beam. It has a number of applications that my company's looking into, but at the moment it's only utilized on the Iron Man.

I saw your journal about the tablets. It looks fascinating. I can't want to see what you find.
