Crandall could practically smell the post-combat adrenalin rush radiating off of him. Ni-ice way of putting it!
but this batch had been cleverer than most at hiding themselves. Like your dive into plotting and plots! Very promising for Novel One.
it would be up to his replacement whether one Captain William Adama stayed in or got chucked out. Crandall already had the odds figured as to which it would be. Ah! Yes! Good reasoning! I like how you create the back story to that canon fact.
Hell, given his complete lack of military background and connections, he'd be on thin ice even if he'd kept his nose squeaky-clean Cool. Carolann was the connection. I like how you tied into that.
Good story. well written. And it seems utterly credible. Connects to canon, and in canon in a way that it connects to any pictures I can make of young-Bill.
It does make me wonder if Bill so appreciates Kara because she is in fact a young copy of his young self.

Oh, yes, Kara reminded Bill of Bill very early on. Most specifically she reminded him of those parts of himself that he'd had to set aside to become the Responsible Commander.
