Well... that sucks...

After almost getting to the nail-biting stage, I finally got the call from ERAU today. (My cell phone apparently decided to not ring, so I got it by noticing the message light was flashing... I really hate Sprint. How can you lose signal while sitting in one place indoors on a sunny day?).

Anyways, apparently after due consideration, the consensus of the seach committee is that I do not fit in with their Department. They liked my research ideas and presentation, but were not satisfied with my teaching skills. I knew that the demo class had been a little weak (I was teaching a subject I hadn't seen in probably 15 years with very few days notice... of course it was going to be a bit sketchy)... but was hoping that everything else would make up for that. I really did feel like it was a dead-on match.

Ahh well... at least there are other things out there... I will have on onsite with Missouri-Rolla (no demo teaching - I have to do a one hour seminar on my Dissertation, but that is easy) next Wednesday or the Wednesday after... and AREVA still sounds interested/ing... but I was really hoping to have an offer on the table before my contract here ran out.

Sigh... this does not do anything to reduce my stress level for the upcoming week. I think my blender and I have a date tonight.
