Job Offer! Woot Woot!

University of Missouri in Rolla just called and they are in the process of Fed-Ex'ing me an offer letter to join the Nuclear Engineering Faculty there. This is one step closer to having something concrete. faeflitt and I have been doing a lot of research and Rolla looks very attractive to both of us - she would be able get her PhD in Opera Performance ( Read more... )

True... though, honestly, there is a lot I like about small towns. So ending up there for a long time is definitely a possibility... though you are right, if we are not happy, we can always relocate again after a few years - faeflitt finishing her degree work makes a good excuse.

I wish you both luck on the new job and move, but I have two comments about the peacocks: THEY ARE LOUD!!! and taste like chicken (which is of course the answer to too many peacocks)

See, I'm kinda counting on that - I'm guessing it is easier to kill and eat annoying animals than it is the cute and friendly ones.

Fortran will never die. I have just resigned myself to that fact.

As for peacocks, I think the viciousness is probably part of the point/interest. Kinda like having a llama that will try to mate with anything moving would be amusing as well... at least for a while.
