Decisions, decisions

Well, after much consideration, I notified UM-R (University of Missouri in Rolla) yesterday that I was accepting thier offer to join the Nuclear Engineering Faculty there. They are very excited to have me (I have already received two emails from the faculty there welcoming me) and I am rather excited about the program and opportunities there. ( Read more... )

Thanks! And yeah... you shall have to make it out to Lilies some time. I can pretty guarantee I will be there most years from now on.

I have it on good authority that Rolla is right on the border of midrealm and meridies, so you might get to do your fencing anyhow. :)

Yeah... we are pretty close to the Middle - I haven't yet figured out how far away the closest Midrealm group is. I hadn't thought about Meridies, but you are right about that too.

It is going to be interesting living somewhere where the two adjacent kingdoms are closer than the nearest Barony is here. Plus having a major war within three hours drive willbe spiffy to boot.

I'm so glad a decision has been made so that you both can be out of limbo and on to planning. How exciting! Enjoy your last month in NM. Now, let's see.. according to Mapquest Nashville, TN is ~ 1/2 way between York, SC and Rolla, MO. Once y'all get settled we might have to find an SCA event near Nashville. :-)

Yeah... I'm sure there are going to be several within mutual driving range. Plus just having an excuse to drive to visit friends. With my family in SC, I suspect we will be your way somewhat more frequently than we are now.
