2nd Day of Subbing

I was surprised this morning when St Joseph Middle School called and wanted me to sub. I'm a little excited about this. I've been praying for extra money, and God is definitely providing me opportunities.

God, help me be like you in the classroom today.

I'm in a special needs class. 1st and 3rd hour are great, but 2nd hour was not so much fun... Here is the drama that ensued (names have been changed to protect the guilty)

When I was helping Larry with his worksheet, Bob got up out of his seat and was over by Hugh. They were making fun of each other, apparently because Hugh threw a pencil at Bob. Then Walter shouted at Bob, calling him a moron. This was so loud that another teacher came in and reprimanded them.

Will, Larry and Bob were talking/whispering during most of the period. At the beginning of the hour, they listened when I reprimanded them, but after the pencil incident, once I turned away, they were talking to each other again. Bob and Will were the only two to finish their worksheets. Bob would not work on his Resource Folder. Near the end of the hour, the same teacher pulled Will and Bob out of class.

Other kids I know from church were excited that I was subbing.
