Just remember, not everyone is the same when it comes to exercising. It's good that you found that workout videos - a certain one - actually helped you. Other people - like myself, for example - might not be able to stand the fact that someone is telling me what to do, and cannot answer my questions on whether or not I'm doing it correctly.

I glad you brought this up though because different perspectives to exercise would actually make what I say less "tunneled". I can only speak for myself in what works for me, but your input might actually be beneficial to those that find my methods do not work for them.

Yeah, the exercise videos are for people who don't know what to do and really need the direction and encouragement. I recommend Insanity and P90X, though I think Julian's 30 Day Shred is good for beginners (as in, people who are completely not in shape and probably overweight), and we just started Zumba which is really fun. It really helps to do it in a group, but one of the bosses here has been doing them every day by himself, and he's lost over 30 pounds. It really is very amazing. o.O

I hear yah. Everyone's gotta start somewhere when developing there exercise regiment. A lot of the things you've mentioned are cardio toning, which is still pretty good. The only problem I see with a lot of these videos is that you need that video or that person to be there in order to motivate you.
Nothing is wrong with that. It's just that the path I took for exercise training is the self-reliant one where I have to rate my own improvements and self motivate to further improve.
They may be two separate paths in terms of exercise training, but both results are still pretty much satisfying. Again, each person is different with different goal sets in mind, and different means of motivation. I merely offer my perspective.

P.S. I also heard that Zumba was pretty fun too from one of my friends. Don't know if I'll try it though. My gym gets pretty packed every time they have one of those class sessions.
