So this was my first year at DC and my second major convention as a Wolf Pack Elite member. Holy shit was it a spectacular time!!!
Thursday
I roll out of bed at 4 am to drive up to Atlanta with Moshi, his wife and El Fuego. Boring 7 hours. I had originally had my room from Friday until Monday but heard that everyone was going up Thrusday for a PJ party and a Big Trouble and Little China group so I secured some floor space and went up ahead of schedule. Getting the car unloaded at the Marrior (where Moshi was staying) and getting my car parked and unloaded at the Hilton (where I was staying) was such a bitch ass time that I said fuck it I'm not lugging all my shit across the street to the Marriot so I scored a room at the Hilton for Thursday night and it was worth it. It started out with dinner with friends at Fire de Brazil. Overpriced but I did get to laugh hard enough to cry.
Then I prepared for BTLC and then meet up with our crew some of who know their shit.
Then PJ party with my date Puppet Spike (Deven brought him for me just for the PJ party).
While drunk in the Marriot lobby I had my first celebrity encounter. Tiney and I are occupying a bridge to the elevators and Alan Tudyk walks by. Tiney gasps..... Oh my god. That's Wash. and my intoxicated ass blurts out "ALAN TUDYK I LOVE YOU!!" and he has an "Oh shit I've been made moment" waves and makes a run for it. Facepalm. I proceed to the PJ party where drinking insues.
Tiney and I get bored and wander the Hyatt Lobby where we find a SUPER FREAKING AWESOME Rick O'Connell from the Mummy.
Then I pass out around 2 or 3
Friday up at 6 am to wait in line for our passes. Pre registering is aparently the SLOWEST way to get your pass. I found out that Froggy's was there taking pro photos again and jumped at the change.
I snagged James Marsters (Spike) first. I spoke with Corey behind the desk (met him at FX) and we laughed about the Crypt Cougars that follow Marsters around. He was a wonderfully sweet guy and hugged everyone who came through his line. When he got to me we had an odd moment becuase I'm a bit taller than him. He tries to figure out how to put his arm around my shoulders I give him and say... yeah I'm kinda tall and slouch down a bit. FANTASTIC PICTURE! He leans in afterwards and says that's okay. I'm kinda short. I smile and say No really I'm kinda tall and we have a laugh.
Then I found Nox in line for the authograph room. So I hung out with him (read skipped an hour of waiting) and I helped him snag a picture with Sean Astin and James Hong. Who is FUCKING AWESOME! He writes BTLC quotes on his autographs and then READS THEM TO YOU!!! Fantastic guy.
I went and saw Nathan and Alan (who thankfully didn't recognize me). Had a nice conversation with Nathan's handler to the point of where I realized Nathan was waiting on ME so I moved along. We had a nice discussing of how awful the elevators were and aparently he's bad in crowds. Clausterphobic.
There is another few stories involving them. I then proceeded back to pick up my picture with Marsters and find out.... There is this thing, and it's called the Serenity Sandwich and you damn well know i had to be in the middle of that. There are so many stories that could go with this picture. Go ahead make up your own. I appear super smug, Alan is horrified and Nathan is pretty smug too.... Deven says it's because I'm grabbing his ass (note lower right hand corner) PS I was NOT Grabbing ass.
Later it was the ONE AND ONLY Panel we made it to with Nathan and Alan. They're too freaking funny together. Loved it.
It was then time for Dinner at the Velvet Underground room at the Hard Rock. We had the whole area sectioned off for the WPE Dinner. Yeah we're that cool.
After dinner we rushed out to get ready for our Seven Deady Sins Group.
( I AM THE DEVOURER OF WORLDS!!)
Afterwards it was a bit of time as Kaylee and then bed at 3 am.
There are more pictures at my
DragonCon PhotobucketTomorrow Saturday & Sunday... which are even better.
