i don't know. competition was a lot more fierce in primitive societies. now everything we do is a little more subtle. we attack less, but destroy more people with each attack. primitive people fought pretty much every day, but weren't very good at it. i think it comes out about the same. and back then, they had to compete for food, water, and other crap; now all we compete for is... oh wait, OIL. but also society is a lot more intelligent in general now, and most civilians are against killing. so we've grown.
anyway, i'm glad you updated.

that is true, but i mean if society was still at its modern advancements except for the fighting. with all the "diplomatic" agreements, i think there would be a lot more "threats" but not much actual actions. i watched this movie the other day about two families who kept fighting about this piece of land. once a person from the opposing family was killed, the killer was granted a few days of immunity. the family of the dead would wait until the shirt (with the blood) turned yellow and then would avenge the death of their own. it was a bloody circle which just ended with almost every generation dead. it was based in the 1920s, but it seems as though we haven't evolved much from the same tactics.
