i have learned that about 5 guys at furman are gay, know it, and are willing to talk about it. at least to some degree.

that means we have hope here.

and i'm the new president of qsa (which will soon change names).

anywho.

that's my update.

i love furman, hate the roomie (mark), and want to go to orlando for spring break

I thought it was strange when they changed their name from FLAG to QSA. It seemed less inclusive.

And what are you going to change the name to? If you were there during the original name change debacle, you would understand how funny this is. Did you ever know Jonathan Carter? He was very pro-"queer" and sold us on the idea. In ten years everyone will be getting "Queer Theory" degrees like the trendy schools in more progressive areas and the word won't be so shocking or confusing, but I agree, it may have been too forward thinking for Furman. Le Sigh.

Well, yea.

Dr Radel and I discussed it and I suggested a name change (something not so abrasive). Now, of course I understand the significance of the word queer, but many Furmanites don't.

And frankly, something has to be done to raise awareness about us.

Thus, we'll see what I can do.
