*Big hugs* I can identify with a lot of that stuff. I also have highly critical parents who pretty much only love(d) me conditionally, and, well... I went to a music school, and my parents would almost never show up whenever I had concerts or anything. My relationship with my dad has always been fucked up anyway, so him not showing up wasn't a surprise, but my mom... One time, her excuse was literally "I have to stay home and dye my hair." LOL. *Deep breath* And for a long, long time, I didn't even realize how sad I was about it, until this one incident about a year ago when something really tiny set me off in the biggest way and I ended up crying over the way some of my childhood had been ( ... )

Thank you for the well thought out reply, I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you but I needed some time to sit down and think about it and make myself more rational.

I think your right, about us only having one life and having to try to live it to the fullest. I always try to tell myself that but I'm cripplingly shy so it makes things difficult often but I've been working on getting over that.

Regardless, you getting one B is damn impressive to me I was never the best student (I didn't do homework was my actual problem, the rest I was fine on) so that kind of determination is always impressive.

Thank you for your kind words. ♥

Sounds like long-buried crap is coming to the surface. It sucks horrendously, but it means that you are, finally, healing. Hang in there, and feel free to rant all you want here.

You can't be "fixed". (see, I got the punctuation right this time)

It's like a glass figurine; once it's cracked it can never be fully repaired, but it can be fixed to the point that the crack is no longer a problem. You can't look at it as having "issues" and "problems" that hold you down. That's a personal choice you've made because giving them up means you will have to face what happened. That's scary for a lot of people.

I know how you feel on a lot of things, I also know that I'm not yet a doctor and I am only on the inside when I see everything. Some things you need to hear will hurt. You can get over it, you have to want it. You can't let anyone else hold you back. You asking

"When does my inability to function as a person (not just as an adult, but as a person in general) stop being my parents fault and start becoming mine?"

shows that you are mentally ready to move onto the next step. It's a big one, and it's going to hurt in the beginning, but it's one that has to be made if you want to go anywhere in your life. Your ( ... )

No problem. I know how crappy it feels, so I also know how nice it is to have someone there. :)
