OMGOMGOMG!! seriously? BBC has the best most amazing series EVER! And I don't know if I like Athos, or Aramis more. Tom Burke is just yummy and such an amazing actor!! his pain is my pain (please stop me about him I could do this all day) and santiago Cabrera... just head him speaking french and Spanish and I lost it!!
now I'm off to read your story. ETA: f*ck! you captured the vibe of the show so well! even the gunpowder barrels LOL
I have never seen this show, but since I love your writing I decided to give it a try, and am very glad I did! You paint a clear picture of who these characters are, and I want to see how they meld together...
But that was a very nasty place to leave me hanging!!!
That was great! I hadn't thought before about Aramis being in danger if anyone knew he'd survived Savoy. That was a nice touch. This has a really great series vibe about it.
Ah, yes! The idea struck me when I watched 'Good Soldier'. It stood to reason that, given all the lenghts they had gone to assure the dutchess' safety, loose ends would not be welcomed.
As for a series... good eye for it ;) A sequel is already in the works, as it is :))) After that, we'll see... Thank you!
Great story, ingenious and well paced. I love how you've introduced all the characters and woven them together in some unusual and different ways, even our feisty Constance!
Thanks for sharing, always great to find new fans of the show with such talented story telling abilities!

It is a tough choice in between those two, I'm truly a sucker for the romantic, hero type ;) Porthos, the giant teddy bear, wins my heart as well *g*
Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and words! Next part will be up in a few hours ;)

What a great take on how "the Inseperables" met and came to be.
Love snarky Athos and his dry humor, Rene/Aramis --- so broken and yet so brave -- and Porthos, just being....Porthos.
You write Treville very well, too.
Was glad to be of help. Anytime!
