TrollBridge User Script

Announcing my latest user script: TrollBridge for LiveJournal.

This is a user script for use with a supported web browser, such as the Greasemonkey extension for Firefox. It is a nice, simple way to hide comments from journals and communities from annoying and spammy users. Effectively putting the Troll back under his Bridge.

Great thing! Thanks!
Noticed one problem: Un-Troll section at the bottom of page at some moment disappeared and not shown anymore. (FF 2.0.0.3)

Still seems to work for me. Note that the script was only designed to work on un-themed comment pages, and at the bottom you will only see a list of users that were banned on that comment page. So if you want to un-troll them, then go back to the comment page you originally did it on.

I'm not a web developer. But what I've noticed from code - 'pageOffset' on about:config seems to be empty

The pageOffset is simply the scroll position of the window. This is stored so that when the page is reloaded it can go back to the same position you were at.

The only thing that the Un-Troll list depends on is a div called "Content", which exists in all non-styled comment pages.

One thing you could do is check to see if the script is somehow generating an error. Go into the JavaScript Console and paste whatever errors you see in there.

Heya! I think this is awesome =)

Are you able to do something similar for pointing out who's on LJ's Actual Staff, who's on their Support team and who's on their Abuse team? (assuming people on their support and abuse teams aren't paid staff)

If it's not too much to ask, and if you ever get around to it =)

If this isn't a top priority/you don't have the time/you have more important things to do, that's fine too, and I'll understand =) I was just wondering if it was a possibility.

Hmm, the only way this could be accomplished is if there is a list of users on each team... or some other way of obtaining this data.

Doesn't seem to be working on LJ anymore, at least for me (I'm still using FF2, if that helps). :(

This one never worked properly on every blog style and its variants available, and was really originally intended for communities anyway. I can imagine with all the style changes made to LJ that it would have broken since its inception, as I have not nor ever intend to again update it.

Honestly, I don't know why LJ hasn't made a feature to do this natively by now anyway...

I hear Dreamwidth is working on a killfile feature, if we're all lucky it'll be compatible enough with LJ's code to be ported here by the devs.
