I don't think / hope I haven't been too guilty of those things - if I was, it was totally unintentional and just born of what we, as a society, are trained or inculculated to say.

I would never tell you how to get yourself to a different place - that would be pretty fucking rude and condescending of me in ANY situation. You're doing and saying and feeling what you need to do, say and feel. And so what if you yelled at some twit blocking the aisle in the supermarket? I do that with no provocation at all, except that I'm a bitch at times.

I also do realise that people do this stuff with purest, sweetest intentions sometimes. Stuff like "I'm sorry". To put it in perspective, when someone I know says it, no problem, because I know that they really are. It just shits me when people who dont even know my name, let alone her name, do it because it is so FAKE. gaah.

Basically none of lj is guilty of any of this stuff. none. so chill. <3

I get what you're saying - I think we're just trained to say I'm sorry because it's the polite thing to say. Polite doesn't mean shit if its not meant sincerely, but most people don't know that.
