I hear you! I was in post-secondary school for 11 years, and where did it get me?
But after spending agonizing years looking for a job that would do more than support me, accepting every sort of promising opportunity I could get, I'm finally starting on a job - you know, those with registry on your working card - on Tuesday. I got there through a test (concurso) in April.
I'm telling you this because I know exactly how you feel, and I believe in you and not in your education. Keep working. Keep your mind open. Face your laughable jobs by what they are: part of a comedy movie where you'll score the happy ending eventually.
*hugs* I know exactly how you feel. I got my BA in Anthropology about a year and a half ago and everyone I talked to said it should be the easiest thing in the world to get a job right out of college. Bullshit. I don't have on the job experience so I am undesirable as a worker. Yes, I have the degree they demand and yes, I have the practical application of the things I've learned by way of field school experience. What I don't have is 6 months to 2 years of on the job experience which seems to be the magic amount required to have them so much as consider me for any position. I can't get any experience unless someone will hire me and no one will hire me because I don't have any experience. Catch 22s need to go die in a fire! So I've gone to grad school in the vain hope that one of my professors or fellow students will run a dig or point me towards someone who would hire me. I'm not exactly holding my breath. Best luck to you.
