[Narrative] Prelude

Since the incident with Matt, she hadn't been able to sleep normally. The hospital beds had been itchy and cold. Her bed was still the way it was from when..

It didn't help that the computer would randomly turn itself on, small tremors around her apartment.. were all things things only happening to her, or others as well?

She slipped her shoes off, and fit herself between the comforter and mattress. Her body was tensed, afraid that if she turned off the lamp next to her, something or someone would be there.. like in those terrible cliche movies she used to watch.

Franziska had gone out, most likely to see her brother. Which meant she could talk to herself freely - not that Franziska's presence stopped her from that anyways. Each time she tried to speak, however, it came out as a cry or a whimper. As if her body had given up the will to speak - why should she? everything that came out of her mouth just made things worse. Maybe if she just shut up for good..

She eventually clicked the lamp off. Exhausted by the fear and tenseness of her body, she succumbed to the bed, and shut her eyes tight. Her fists balled the sheets, terrified of nothing. Soon, sleep overtook her, finally at peace, if only for a moment.
----------------
Her apartment. The olive-yellow walls with dark-brown and dark-green frames. The potted plants, the.. man at the couch.. he had some blond hair, and most of the back shaved off.
"Love! I was curious as to when that treacherous shift of yours ended~" he spoke with vigor and pride, setting a book down on the couch. It appeared to be a mystery novel he bought at some grocery store.. he was such a fanboy for them.
"Hahaha, you would. Miss me much?" Adrian teased, grinning.
"O! the moments I spend without you, they are certainly MOST dreadful!" he said, pointing to the ceiling for dramatic effect.
"Most dreadful? I see you reading one of your favorites~"
"I would burn all my novels just to spend an evening with you.." he cooed, moving away from the dark-green couch and onto his feet, adjusting the collar and bow of his suit.

"I got you some-thiiing.." she mused. The man didn't realize she walked in with a hand behind her back. The man quickly went to the couch to fetch something as well.
"Is that so, madam? because.. you see.. I got you something too~"
"Okay, lets show each other at the same time, okay?"
"Agreed."
1, 2, 3, and
They both turned up a rose. They laughed, what a lovely coincidence they found.

"Aww, ----, it's so pretty~ you didn't have to.."
"My thoughts exactly, love. I shall put them in water for you! have a seat, you must be awwwwfully tired."
"Man, work today, you wouldn't be-lieeve the people I work with."
She plopped down on their couch as the man went into the kitchen, replying "Mm..!"
"See, Charles, he's like.. okay, get this, I wrote the station-report, right?"
"Mmhmm~" he turned on the tap water, letting it flow into a glass.
"And he's like, extremely moody, you know those kind? he bitches at me before I even tell him 'I already did it', so he's 'YOU GOT THOSE REPORTS DONE I KNOW YOU DIDN'T' and I sent them out like.. hours ago."

"HMPH! some people!! best not to.." he set the glass down on the counter top and walked back into the living room, ".. Pay those kind of people any mind. You're liable for a promotion, yes? he will be stuck working under you forever in such a case.. gloat, be happy, my dear!" he threw his hands in the air and laughed.

"Wish I could work closer to you.."
"Oh! well, with all this Mask*DeMasque business, I'll always be close around.. evil is afoot, and the great detective ---- ---------- will find the culprit of these heinous crimes! mark my words Adrian, he -will- be stopped!" he stomped his foot, giving a full dramatic performance, and finished with a majestic bow.

Adrian laughed, clapping, "You showboat!"
"Aaand that's why you love me, no?"
She shook her head, blushing and giggling, "You're just so damn silly sometimes."
"That's not true, you just know where I'm ticklish, that's all!"
Adrian plotted evilly, and smirked at him, "OhhAigadear? look out!" she leapt at him, tickling his ribs and torso. He fought back, tickling her back.

In the end, they both fell to the floor, their faces flushed with laughter, all tickled-out. They turned their heads to face each other, giving the other a loving expression.

"I love you, Aiga.."
"Oh Madam, how I love thee~"
---------
Adrian screamed, sitting up in bed suddenly, clutching onto a small piece of something as if her life depended on it. Her heart felt like it was ripped in half. She went for the lamp next to her bed, which fell to the floor and broke. She yelped in surprise, her memory of the dream quickly dissolving, she had to do something!

memory, dream
