I remember reading a new hope and thinking it was pretty good in like Jr. High. It has some additonal Leia/Han dialog I wish had made it into the movie if I recall. But I don't know what I would think of it now.

The Han Solo adventures were pretty good though as far as older Star Wars books go...I never made it past Zahn's first new triology back in the 90's myself though.

Most of the Clone Wars books have been pretty awesome, as was the first part of the Darth Bane series, which is like 1000 years in the past. I know I got tired of all the skipping around in the timeline, that the post Original Trilogy did. Yes, I know and love that the authors are under contract to keep to consistant timeline (one of the other bonuses of reading Revenge of the Sith, Stover manages to work in quite a few mentions of previous books, which had me going HEY!! Awesome!), but that doesn't help when the books that come out are jumping all over the place.

I figure by starting at the beginning, I can avoid that, to some extent... I hear the New Jedi Order books are pretty good.
