It's McDonalds' Asian-American oriented marketing. They have special CMs for African-Americans and Hispanics, too. It's a bit oddly pan-Asian in that special US "all slanty eyes are alike" sort of way, which makes it vaguely racist to me even as it celebrates their culture.

i had no idea there was an asian-american history month (much less organized by a woman with the last name "Jew" - no kidding?)

i will say that i'm simultaneously amused by the cuteness of the dog and the pig at the door, but the "year of the pig!" chanting is just awkward. i suppose if you get a fast-food company to sponsor(?) cultural awareness - for a culture it has zero relevance to - well, that's exactly what you're going to get. wow. now MY head hurts.

i wonder if they'll start carrying mcchopsticks. and an eggroll to go with that shamrock shake? happy asian history month!
