Summary: It's Christmas Eve and Riku decided to give in and give Sora his present early.
The lights of the tree greeted him as he came down the stairs, the multi-colored strands shining against the deep green needles of the tree. It had been a good find, even if it had been a chore to go out and get it. Getting every dressed and ready and then dragging everyone down by the river only to search for an hour for a tree in the cold had been no small feat. But in the end they had found the perfect one, and after an argument on the best way to cut it down, it finally had been. Tying it up had been another matter entirely but somehow, it had finally made it's way into the house, where it had been decorated with the few things they had been able to find. A couple of strings of lights, along with some garland and tinsle and some home made ornaments. But what it looked like really didn't matter. It was the thought behind it that counted.
Reaching the bottom, he moved into the den. It had been his idea to set the tree up in here. Mostly so they all wouldn't wake up one morning to it totally destroyed, either by one of the people who currently slept in the living room or by the mischevious kittens who liked to roam around at night. There was a fire already crackling in the fire place, the bright blue and dark black flame lending a soft light to the room. Laying the package he had been carrying carefully in his hands onto the hearth, he moved back out of the room and into the kitchen, where he set about warming up some of the apple cidar he had learned how to make, and carried two mugs of it (and a plate of cookies. He really couldn't tell Sora no on Christmas) back into the room, and set them down on the small table in front of the small sofa.
It was snowing, although the fall of it had slowed through out the day, it still caught his attention. Leaving the items behind on the table he moved towards it, arms crossing over his chest as he leaned against the cold wood and glass of the window pane, staring outwards, watching the way the stars and moon seem to illumitnate the snow and make it sparkle. A small smile crossed his lips as he settled against it, contented to wait there until Sora finally found his way downstairs and joined him.
