Summary: The Doctor's reviving after being dead the past few days
The body that had been tucked snugly into bed had lain cold and still for several days, dressed in just pajama bottoms with a blanket pulled up over his shoulders. He'd showed no signs of life whatsoever, though the wounds on his chest had somehow been healing on their own. Other than that, there was nothing to indicate the man would ever breathe again.
It was like waking from a deep sleep. The journey back seemed to take forever, though the Doctor was vaguely aware that his sense of time was off. A hand twitched, a slight shudder running through his body, and just like that he was back. Each breath came in a sharp gasp, his eyes wide and slightly panicky as he tried to make sense of the recent events. He bolted upright into a sitting position, only to whimper quietly at the surprising rush of vertigo and vestiges of pain.
