SO. GUYS.
The Canon Update/Downgrade event coming up is gonna spawn a lot of brainbreakage and related wtfery, that much is a given. But I've had this idea brewing around in the back of my mind for a long time, and this event will actually give me the opportunity to set it into action.
I pulled Negi from the canon point he's taken from for a reason. Shortly after the chapter I pulled him from, he learns a powerful ability called Magia Erebea, an ability that his master, Evangeline, created herself. It's a technique that allows the user to fuse a dark magic spell into their body, boosting their physical durability and allowing them to absorb magical energy from their foe, should their foe be a magic user. Just learning it very nearly kills him, and he runs the risk of not being able to use magic at all if he fails to learn it. But, he succeeds, and becomes much stronger, even developing a form that uses a lightning spell, trading durability and magic absorption for, quite literally, becoming lightning.
Unfortunately, the technique was never meant for use by humans. Within a few weeks of learning it, he begins experiencing sudden, deep chest pains, and the technique begins activating on its own. It's begun eating at his soul, and he's slowly degrading. And near the end, he's having the attacks frequently, and if one wrong emotion is triggered, it sets him off into demon form.
This is when I plan on having him pulled from for this event. Something will be triggering this change in him; it doesn't even have to be something blatant, just a subtle action, anything that would trigger either anger, fear, hate or sadness. Negative emotions are what triggers the beginnings of Magia Erebea, but by this point, it takes it a step further.
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU:
First and foremost, I will need someone to volunteer to trigger this ability. I've been trying to think of how I could trigger it myself, and I do have one option, but I would appreciate it if someone could offer up a few alternative options so that I can involve others~
Once that part of the plot is squared away, Negi will be on a rather berserk rampage. It'll happen in the Southeastern quarter of the city, and will stay within those boundaries. That's the other reason for this plot post: I want to know if anyone would be interested in encountering him. He won't recognize hardly anyone, save for Kotarou, so he won't have any discretion as to who he attacks. He will also be his typical, intelligent self while in this form, despite being in a berserker frenzy, so he will be able to determine which form to use against which opponent. If he knows his opponent is powerful, he will automatically go to lightning form. However, if he is unsure, he will begin in dark form, and move on to lightning form if necessary.
Dark Form: Examples: [1] [2]
In this form, Negi has extremely heightened durability. He doesn't lose any speed, but he can take hits at a far greater capability than in his normal form, shields included. If you are a magic user, he can also absorb your magical energy like a black hole and use it to fuel his own spells. If you're familiar with Final Fantasy, think of it as Aspir, or the magic equivalent of Drain.
Lightning Form: Examples: [1] [2]
In this form, Negi is more or less lightning incarnate. His speed is jacked up so much that, unless you can see someone while in instant movement, you don't even see a chance at seeing him move. That's just how fast he is. Hence, lightning incarnate. Unfortunately, he's much less durable in this form. He's had his arm and leg cut off in it before, though they merely reattached themselves (see here). But it is quite possible to knock him out of this form, should you be able to hit him, and it will revert him to his dark form.
Negi will be stopped, of course. If what I'm planning still goes through the way we have it, Kotarou will be the one bringing him down, ultimately. But in the process, there aren't any limits as to who he could harm, or worse.
