cable pattern

Dec 09, 2007 16:15

Hello, everyone. I'm currently working on a hat for my husband's dad for Christmas, and I want to spice it up a little bit. I'd like to add a Viking Turid on it to make it more interesting. Does anyone know where I could find a pattern for the turid online?

Thanks.

Not online, but seems to be in Knitter's magazine from 2000

or from the book

I have no idea what a Turid is and Wikipedia isn't helping me, but if you take a look through "Viking Knits" by Elsebeth Lavold (a truly, truly marvelous book) you might find what you're looking for. Good luck!

This off topic, but I wrote three of the haiku in your icon. numbers 5, 11, and 13. They were originally collected from the Cat Owners board at Microsoft. (My favorite of the collection, sadly, is not included in your icon.)

Seconding (thirding? fourthing?) the Elsabeth Lavold suggestion. You might be able to find her books in the library. Even if she hasn't covered exactly what you have in mind, she's generous enough in sharing her techniques that you should be able to create your own design.
