Three dimensional knitting...

...as applied to a stuffed red dragon.

While this project had no real practical use, knitting this dragon taught me a lot about how to achieve different shapes by using in- and de-creases and short rows. Especially the legs posed a challange. I wanted them to look "real" and not so much like those of a toy. Despite some issues with proportions, I am ( Read more... )

Very nice! Also, kudos for knitting it tightly enough ;) I hate when I see stuffed animals that are knitted so loosely that the stuffing is poking out everywhere.

I knitted everything except for the skin on the wings with two starands held together on 4mm needles. My hands cramped up every now and again, but I think it was worth it.
