Would a lifeline help?irishlacenetSeptember 16 2008, 23:33:31 UTC
1. Put those four stitches on a lifeline 2. Purl the four stitches through the back loops 3. If any stitches have slipped off, follow the lifeline, and put the original four stitches back on the left needle 4. Purl the four stitches through the front loop
I hated that row so much. I got halfway through and gave up, then ripped back a couple rows and knit the last ribbing row with a much larger needle. When it came to the increase row, I had a lot more "room" in the stitches to work with and it wasn't nearly as bad as wrestling that many increases into regular-sized stitches.
In the end, I wasn't willing to do that. I made ordinary purl increases for that round, then started the purl cable pattern on row 8 instead of row 1. I really doubt it's going to make a big difference in how it looks in the end. And the more I get into this pattern, the more I realise I probably need a dead easy queue sock for the next month or so, because I don't think I'm going to be knitting this on the bus or in the queue at the bank so much. ;)
