The only suggestion I can think of... do you like the other Noro yarns? I'm assuming yes. I really like the Silk Garden. It doesn't feel scratchy to me like the other noro can at times. I think it'd be easier to make out of a heavier weight. Then you could probably find a leg warmer pattern and just kind of modify. I'll check for patterns later when I am less tired. I only woke up to tinkle and ended up reading my LJ friends page. Sheesh :)
Hmm...If you knit a ribbed leg it'll give it more stretch without mucking up the striping too terribly. Otherwise you're probably going to have to just make 2 different sizes of sock.
yes, i am. and i have tons of knee socks, its just that after knitting several pairs of noro socks, and given how much i love knee socks, i would love a few pairs out of the,. the ribbing idea is one i had not thought of, and i have search online, but taking the swatches i have, and from experience, they do need sz 0 needles, and rewriting the patterns is a bit beyond my mental capabilities right now.(part of what i am dealing with.)
hrm. what if we ran the measurements of each of your legs through one of those over the knee sock calculators along with the noro yarn swatch info that you get from your zeros, and then we can use that info to create any "matching" pair of socks you like?
I have XXL calves, so the one time I knit myself knee socks, I essentially made the pattern based on my measurements. I used the lace detailing up the back from the knee socks in Handknit Holidays. That pattern would likely work well for your Noro too, but you might be looking for something to set off the stripes more
( ... )
another thing to the "knit them different sizes" suggestion above: if you are anything like me in the morning, embroider a "R" and "L" on the correct foot so you don't wonder at about 10am why one sock is cuttting off circulation while the other is falling down!
