And I'm looking at you through the glass
I don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

And it's the stars, the stars that shine for you
It's the stars, the stars that lie to you

Ah, that's a pretty good Stone Sour song.

Aye, I'm discovering a true weakness for them.

Can you believe that song has already been available on karaoke for TWO MONTHS? You could sing along with it before you could buy the album in stores. Amusing, too, because it got played so often here that I had it memorized and could sing it before the label even sent me a promo.

Probably my favorite song on the album -- of course, I've only given it a cursory once-over so far.

I assign my own meaning to them, as does anyone who listens to such poetry. I'm sure that Mr. Taylor had a specific interpretation in mind when he penned the lyrics, but upon reflective listening I have found that they can be applied to a number of situations. They simply seemed to resonate with me at the time, given certain circumstances that are at this time prevalent in my life. "Looking at you through the glass" might mean a mirror, or it could mean a picture frame, a television set, or perhaps even a metaphorical reference to the Apostle Paul's image of a "glass darkly". Saying that "forever feels like home", to me, implies that when one becomes accustomed to waiting for something dearly prized, the waiting in itself becomes the vantage of familiarity.

Thre are certainly innumerable interpretations that can be applied, these are simply some that run through my head as I listen to the song.
