Here's a comprehensive post of the workarounds for LJ's new comment pages. Feel free to share this, comment on what you've found that can help, etc etc. I'll keep this post open and I'll also update it when new things are brought out!

Aha, so that was it! I use Minimalist layouts for everything, and as long as I'm either on my own turf or keep the 'View in own style' box checked, I have full features.

And that is why we need subject lines/tags to be BEFORE you click on LJ-cuts. Unfortunately, it seems that LJ doesn't care and would rather listen to their snide developers all the more.

I have resisted s2 for years since I can't find a style that replicates the features I want in my friends page. Hopefully someone can help me find a s2 style that matches it or that lj will cave and let me continue using s1.

Same here -- I'm still using a very bare bones S1 with a free account, and haven't wanted to switch, but with this comment redesign, I can't even expand collapsed comments to read them anymore (when I click on "expand," I see a spinny thing that says "loading," then nothing happens).
