Loz stirs just a little bit in his bed as Kadaj enters the house, sighing quietly into his pillow, at least until the first wave of sharp, searing pain woke him, its intensity nearly blinding even over the mental bond. At first, he's not sure if it's actually something he is feeling or otherwise, but then, the sheer terror of the youngest leaks through and he jumps bolt-upright in his bed, absolutely horrified.
Yazoo fell straight out of the chair he'd been waiting in, intending to herd Kadaj back to bed again, when the wave of pain and terror hit. He was on his feet again before he was consciously aware of it, scrambling to his brother's side before half-falling to kneel beside him.
"Kadaj.. oh gods.. Kadaj..." Yazoo murmured, fumbling for the cure materia, trying to push down panic enough to spellcast.
The datareader he'd been holding toppled to the floor as Yazoo, in his hotel room somewhere in the Junon underbelly, grabbed at his chest, eyes widening in shock and alarm at the all-consuming wave of terror, one he hadn't felt since...
"...by the Planet," he whispered, a cold wave of dread washing over him. "...no, no, he's too young... leave him be, take me instead..." he pleaded with the empty air. "...please..."
Kadaj latches desperately on to Yazoo with the hand that isn't at his chest, grip almost painfully tight despite the shaking. He grits his teeth, giving a small whimper, chest heaving in the attempt to get enough air into his lungs.
"H-hurts."
He curls over against himself, entire frame shaking, squeezing his eyes shut. It was terrifying- he didn't understand what was wrong.
