Valentines Day Date

So, For V-Day I'm taking my date out to dinner, a movie, then ice cream.

My issue is the candy/card. I have no idea when to give it to her.

Do I do it before we leave her place? While we're waiting for food to arrive? After we've eaten, before the movie? (I'm not going to give it to her before/after ice cream. I'm not quite that clueless.)

The instant you see her. It's a Valentine's day present, not an engagement ring!

I agree. Either when you pick her up (Go up to her door and knock) or when she arrives wherever you are meeting.

I've been discounting doing it outside, since she lives in a 3rd floor walkup with a secured entryway (and no buzzer), and it's supposed to rain that day. I always meet her at her door, but I didn't figure it'd be the best place for it, although I'll play it by ear. Regardless of the when, she'll enjoy the gesture anyway.
